Pirate Coins are a currency in Lost Ark, alongside Gold, Silver, and others. Pirate Coins are primarily related to sea content, including unlocking and upgrading ships, hiring ship crew members, and buying collectibles and songs. There are various ways to get Pirate Coins, ranging from one-time tasks that award a large amount of them to daily/weekly activities that award smaller but more consistent amounts. The best methods for collecting them involve Una's Tasks reputation rewards, login rewards and events, trading at merchant ships, daily adventure islands, and sailing events and sea gates.

What are Pirate Coins?
Pirate Coins are a unique currency in Lost Ark, used mostly for sea-related content. They are a valuable currency in the early game, just after getting to level 50, as they’ll help you get a better ship, unlock new songs, and progress your collectibles collection.
However, most items cost a lot of Pirate Coins, and getting them isn’t easy if you don’t know what to do. So, if you want to unlock the Astray ship or the Song of Resonance and are missing Pirate Coins, you’ve come to the right place.
How to Get Pirate Coins in Lost Ark
There are various ways to get Pirate Coins in , ranging from one-time tasks that award a large amount of them to daily/weekly activities that award smaller but more consistent amounts.
Here are all the methods to get Pirate Coins in Lost Ark:
Una’s Tasks Reputation Rewards
Login Rewards & Events
Trading at Merchant Ships
Daily Adventure Islands
Sailing Events and Sea Gates
Let’s examine each method in turn.
1. Una’s Tasks Reputation Rewards
Una’s Tasks are daily activities unlocked once you reach level 50. Players can complete up to three per day, and each of them offers certain rewards.
As a bonus to these rewards, each Una’s Task has a reputation bar that can be seen by opening the daily quests tab (hotkey: Alt+J) and then navigating to the Reputation tab on top.
Each time you complete one quest, you’ll also earn 10 reputation points there. For each quest, there are reputation milestones that award various items. These milestones vary on the quest and could be at 30, 50, or even 100 reputation.
Here are all Una’s Tasks that offer Pirate Coins as reputation rewards:
Ride like the Wind
Bleak Night Fog
She Drifts, Sea Gifts
A Hard Day at Work
Pest Control
Crook Catcher
Playing by the Pirates’ Rules
For the Fermata’s Maintenance
Completing all these tasks multiple times and getting all reputation rewards will award you 335,000 Pirate Coins.
To claim the rewards, go to the ‘Reputation Status’ tab next to the Daily and Weekly tabs and select ‘Claim All’ from the top right.
2. Login Rewards & Events
Lost Ark features login rewards for every day that you log in, and some of them are going to be Pirate Coins or High Sea Coins Chest, which can be exchanged into Pirate Coins, as we’ll see in the next step.
Additionally, the game always has some ongoing events with an event-specific currency and vendor. This vendor sells Pirate Coins, and players can also stock up from there. The best part is that, for most events, event currency can be earned by doing your usual activities: Chaos Dungeons and Guardian Raids.
3. Trading at Merchant Ships
Through Login Rewards and events, players will get their hands on High Sea Coin Chests.
With these, players can select and obtain any of the following Coins, which can be converted into Pirate Coins:
Gienah’s Coin = 10x Pirates Coins
Sceptrum’s Coin = 12x Pirates Coins
Arcturus’s Coin = 15x Pirates Coins
Ancient Coin = 17x Pirates Coins
Sun Coin = 20x Pirates Coins
To exchange Sea Coins for Pirate Coins, find the Tea and Libra Guild Vessel at any port. Open the map (hotkey: M) and select ‘Set Sail’. Right next to the port, you’ll be able to find this ship and exchange your coins there.
Keep in mind that Sea Coins are needed for buying certain items on the sea, such as Collectibles (Giant’s Hearts and Masterpieces), Ship Blueprints, Crew members, and more.
For a full list of what each coin can buy, check out this .
If you don’t have something specific you want to buy and just want to exchange them for pirate coins, the best option is to get Sun Coins, as they have the best exchange rate.
4. Daily Adventure Island
Every day, there will be three Adventure Islands that will award Gold, Silver, Pirate Coins, and Cards. While the Gold Island is the most valuable one, it appears once every 2-3 days. If it isn’t up, or you really need Pirate Coins, you can always complete the Pirate Coins Island as it’s always up.
Also, you can complete one Adventure Island per weekday and two during the weekends.
For more details on Adventure Islands, check your Procyon’s Compass, which can be accessed by the button below the minimap on the top right.
5. Sailing Events & Sea Gates
Lastly, every day in the evening, there will be some Co-op sailing events. These can be seen from the Event Calendar on the top left side of the screen, and there are three of them each day. Players can participate in those to get Pirate Coins and Sea Coins alike (which convert into Pirate Coins, as mentioned in #3).
These events take place outside all major continents, and they award coins based on their location. Other than Pirate Coins and Sea Coins, there’s a chance of getting a Gate Key after completing each part of the event.
These can be used on a different event known as Sea Gates, where players can open a chest at the end of it as many times as they have keys.
Where to Use Pirate Coins
Pirate Coins can be used to buy many useful things that can’t be obtained in any other way. For instance, to get the Song of Resonance in Lost Ark, you will need to visit Treasure Hunter Igran on Peyto and buy it with 16,500 Pirate Coins. If you’ve followed our methods above, these can be obtained easily.
Other notable rewards include unlocking the Astray Ship (the fastest ship in Lost Ark), getting Collectibles such as the 6th Giant Heart and Masterpiece #27, and even buying honing materials every week from the Tea and Libra Guild Vessel mentioned in step #3.
Keep in mind that honing materials can be purchased on each character, so the more alts you have, the more materials you’ll be able to buy every week.
