The latest version of Angular 14 has brought many exciting updates and features for the Angular developers. When comparing all the framework releases before, Angular 14 has some of the most useful upgrades for the developers. If you are excited to know what’s new in this version, below are the top 10 updates or features of Angular 14.
Standalone Components
Angular issued a “Request for Comments” (RFC) feature that has made NgModules optional. They will not be completely obsolete with the most recent update. To keep compatibility with existing Angular applications, they will be made optional. Every component in older versions of Angular required a module associate. Each component needed to be connected with the parent module, or else it caused application failure.
Modules in Angular 14 can now be classified as either standalone or optional components. Angular uses artifacts such as components, pipes, and directives for the project. This is the core of the TypeScript-based Angular Framework.
Angular 14 addresses Angular's greatest GitHub problem: strict typing within the Angular reactive form Package. It will modernize Angular, making forms easier to use. Form Control now supports generic types to indicate a value. The Auto migration feature has been added to Angular v14. This will ensure that existing applications are not damaged during an upgrade. The APIs are continuously checked for any complexity. To make sure that the ecosystem doesn't become dysfunctional, changes must be made quickly. Updates won't affect forms based on templates.
CLI Auto-Completion
You can enhance your Angular CLI skills with the necessary commands to develop artifacts like components, modules, and directives for the projects. There are many commands you can use, but the official guide will help you understand all the options.
This feature has been removed by Angular 14. Angular 14 has the most recent CLI feature. It allows terminal users to type ahead and auto-complete sentences.
First, you will need to direct the ng command. This command can be typed into your terminal. Next, press Tab to open all options and select the option that interests you. You can also use the ng create command for auto-completion if you're using Angular 14.
Diagnostics for Enhanced Templates
Angular 14 introduced improved templated diagnostics to protect developers against common errors. They are based on typescript code and match the compiler. Warnings are not provided for older versions of Angular 13. It will stop developing if it encounters an error.
For basic problems such as incorrect binding syntax (two-way), or the use of unnecessary operators in case of the variable is not being defined, warnings can be quickly developed. Diagnostic tests can be performed with a private compiler. This would allow certain warnings and information to be provided for the user's templates. However, it is not always fatal.
Accessibility to Streamlined Titles
When you create applications, page titles can be used as a way to display the content of your application differently. Adding a title in Angular 14 is simple and requires no imports.
The Angular CDK: Latest Primitives
Component Dev Kit (or Angular CDK) is a set of tools that can be used to create Angular components. Angular 14 released stable versions of the Dialog and CDK Menu. It is now easier to create custom components with new primitives.
The Angular Debugger extension can be used offline. Mozilla's Addons for Firefox include the extension.
Optional Injectors
Developers can now use an optional injector with TemplateRef.create Embedded View and ViewContainerRef.createEmbeddedView when developing an embedding view.
Built-in Enhancements
TypeScript 4.7 is supported by Angular 14. This is also a default target for ES2020. This allows CLI to access any code (small ones) without devaluing it. Another advantage of Angular 14 is the ability to link directly to protected components using our templates. You can have awesome control of the reusable components with a public API surface.
Extended Developer Diagnostics
This feature is now available with Angular v14. This extensible framework allows you to better understand your templates and suggest possible enhancements.
