Many people still don't know or understand the metaverse technology. In this Slogging thread by Mónica Freitas and I, we discuss some of the issues and concerns about the metaverse.
Is the gaming metaverse overrated? 👀
I think the concept is appealing and exciting. I'd guess most gamers are curious to see what that reality will be like. Yet, I anticipate a lot of difficulties in getting that concept to life. Besides, many people will get disappointed when presented with a version of metaverse that fails expectations.
I feel like a lot is demanded from the players before testing the platforms. One of them is the requirement to connect your wallets and only be able to access them by purchasing stuff. Do you think it will be a good idea to make it completely free for new players and maybe upgrade later?
I think in the early stages, that's the best way to get people involved. With a "product" such as this, the company will have to get the consumer's trust first. So, yeah, maybe start free or offer free trials. Do you think that metaverse will be part of our future reality, or just another option like online shopping (some do, some don't)?
It feels like so. Just the other day, I read about Nike selling their shoes on some metaverse platform. For most, it will be an option. The crypto space is full of scammers, making it a no go zone for many people. In your own opinion, in which ways can people be made aware of the advantages of crypto?
I think the challenge starts by explaining clearly what crypto is and how it works. So many people don't understand it, myself included. People are used to the money they can see, and it all seems a bit unreal with crypto. I don't even know what the advantages of crypto are for someone who never needed it. Could you hint at a few perks and practical uses?
What is the difference between shopping online and using crypto? In both instances, we cannot see the money but transactions are going through. Don't you think it should have been adopted by now? Some of the advantages of crypto include:
- Fast and easy transfers. You can send large amounts of cash fast and easy unlike using banks.
- Crypto is private and secure, unlike electronic transactions.
- Cost-effective. You can transfer money across borders without worrying about extra transaction fees.
