Elon Musk’s Humanoid Robot Optimus
Elon Musk has unveiled a new humanoid robot named Optimus. The device resembles a cable salad, with shiny coverings covering its rounded head. Musk plans to mass-produce Optimus sometime within the next three to five years.
The robot will be tested in a factory that builds Tesla cars. Elon Musk has promised Optimus will be as friendly and natural as a human being, though he has also promised to add some security features to avoid a Terminator-like situation. The new robot is inspired by the 1984 sci-fi thriller, “The Terminator,” which depicts an AI system that threatens human civilization.
Musk has said that the new robot is capable of doing a variety of tasks, from watering plants to carrying boxes and lifting metal bars. At the launch event, Musk showed off a video of Optimus working in a Tesla factory and shaking hands with the crowd. “Our goal is to make this humanoid robot as useful as possible,” Musk said.
Its AI
While the company’s CEO has been adamant that Optimus is ready for mass production, he has not been able to show a working prototype. Instead, executives showed a teaser photo of a robot whose hands form a heart shape.
The teaser photo revealed the workings of the robotic hands and how they perceive their surroundings. The humanoid robot would have eight cameras to observe its environment.

The prototype will debut in February 2022, according to Tesla. It is expected to have a battery pack that can last for one day. Tesla says that the robot will be ready for public use within three to five years.
Its Auto-Labeling Technology
Tesla CEO Elon Musk revealed a new feature of his humanoid robot, Optimus, during a presentation. Its torso is equipped with a Tesla Full Self-Driving Supercomputer chip and houses the robot’s central computer, battery pack, and wireless connectivity. It also has audio, safety, and security systems.

Auto-labeling technology is a major improvement for autonomous cars, and Tesla is developing it. The company says it can chew through half a million clips a day. The company also presented improvements to its chips and data infrastructure.
While Tesla has not said when it plans to release its self-driving cars to paying customers, Musk said it expects to have a working prototype available in three to five years.
Its Hand
In 2021, a humanoid robot wearing a Tesla suit made its public debut. It had not been given a name yet. By 2022, a prototype had walked on stage, waved at the crowd, and performed hand gestures. The robot was also seen in video footage carrying a box to a desk and watering plants. The robot is also believed to have been used at Tesla’s factory to pick up parts.
The Humanoid Robot Hand is powered by a 2.3-kWh battery pack and runs on the Tesla SoC. It also has Wi-Fi and LTE connectivity. While the Tesla Humanoid Robot Optimus’s hand has some similarities to human hands, the main difference is in how the robot moves.
