So let’s start! Tell us a bit about yourself. For example, name, profession, and personal interests.
Hi! I’m Artem Sutulov, and I’m a Full-Stack Software Engineer, currently working for in team Wealth&Trading, building the analytics page, and other exciting stuff. I recently moved to Turkey, Antalya, and spent a lot of time discovering it. Also, I’m passionate about tech and software development and dedicate a lot of time to that.
Interesting! What was your latest Hackernoon Top story about?
My latest story was about making modern and reliable Java objects. It’s not evident and requires a good approach, and I believe it’s a worthy one.
Do you usually write on similar topics? If not, what do you usually write about?
I’ve been writing about that lately because I believe that the vast majority of Java services need to do something with the way of writing classes. However, I have a lot of stuff to share besides that, and I will when I finish with this series of articles.
Great! What is your usual writing routine like (if you have one?)
I work a lot, and I need a break to finish my daily working routine. So, I take a walk, visit an exciting place, or watch Netflix. Then, when I'm ready, I take my laptop and spend some time outside on my balcony or in the garden writing the plan or preparing the code or the topic itself.
Being a writer in tech can be a challenge. It’s not often our main role, but an addition to another one. What is the biggest challenge you have when it comes to writing?
The biggest challenge is finding a way to make the statement and explanation as simple as possible. Explaining algorithms or data structures is not easy, and producing articles that are not dull is quite a challenge.
What is the next thing you hope to achieve in your career?
I don’t have specific goals in my career; for now, I am just trying to do my best in my role and see where it leads me.
Wow, that’s admirable. Now, something more casual: What is your guilty pleasure of choice?
Desserts and fresh juices in Turkey are so good and cheap that I’m guilty of consuming a lot of them :)
I love spending time outside in beautiful places. Especially, cycling and hiking. Also, I make some good photos on iPhone or a professional camera.
I want to write some more articles about the pains of Java developers and share a worthy approach on how to write tests and some valuable patterns. After that, I want to cover some database-related stuff and then write about applications and architecture in general.
Thanks for taking the time to join our “Meet the writer” series. It was a pleasure. Do you have any closing words?
The pleasure was all mine. I appreciate you reaching out to me. I like to be a part of the community and enjoy HackerNoon for helping edit and distribute my articles.
I’m looking forward to writing more soon.
