I’m Leandro Nuñez, 42 years old. Argentinian software engineer. I’d like to think I’m a programmer since I found out what Pascal was. I’m also, a passionate fan of the Star Wars universe.
Interesting! What was your latest Hackernoon Top story about?
Nextjs Server Actions and how to build a real-time application with it. I believe this guide can offer valuable assistance to individuals who are facing challenges while implementing certain features in their apps.
Do you usually write on similar topics? If not, what do you usually write about?
Yes, I typically focus on similar topics. I strive to explore various programming languages and different solutions, but my mainstay remains within the same domain of subjects.
My primary niche has consistently centered around a specific set of topics, most of them “trending” as React.
Great! What is your usual writing routine like (if you have one?)
Well, it usually starts with a cup of coffee to kick things off. Then, I venture online to spot emerging trends, checking platforms like (formerly known as Twitter) and Discord to uncover intriguing subjects. Once I have a topic, I craft a fitting title and outline before delving into the actual writing process. Sometimes it takes me days, sometimes just hours—it all depends on my available time, work commitments, and family responsibilities.
Being a writer in tech can be a challenge. It’s not often our main role, but an addition to another one. What is the biggest challenge you have when it comes to writing?
My biggest challenge undoubtedly stems from the fact that I write in English, which isn't my native language. Overcoming this language barrier is quite demanding. Additionally, managing time can be tricky. While I'm enthusiastic about assisting others through my writing, finding the right window of time to sit down and write isn't always easy.
What is the next thing you hope to achieve in your career?
My aspiration is to connect with more programmers who want to learn and achieve milestones in their programming journeys. I aim to contribute to their growth and progress in meaningful ways. I really hope to achieve that.
Wow, that’s admirable. Now, something more casual: What is your guilty pleasure of choice?
I find immense joy in receiving notifications about people liking my posts. While my primary intention is to offer help through my writing, getting an email that reads "Your story was selected as one of the best of the week" brings me a great sense of satisfaction.
Absolutely! Whenever I have the opportunity, I transform into a classic heavy metal singer. I must admit, I'm not exactly the greatest vocalist, but my passion for heavy metal runs deep. It all started as a fun joke with my lifelong heavy metal enthusiast friends. Since I'm the only English speaker among us, we began covering songs from various bands, and that's how my musical journey took off.
I'm planning to go deeper into Next.js, exploring its capabilities and features extensively. Additionally, I'm looking to tackle the challenges of mobile development by sharing insights on complex tasks in that realm. I had to learn Flutter the hard way (and in a really short time), so I’ll try to help others to learn it the easy way.
My view is simple—HackerNoon is an incredible platform. I'm genuinely grateful to have stumbled upon it. The opportunities and exposure it provides are truly remarkable.
Thanks for taking time to join our “Meet the writer” series. It was a pleasure. Do you have any closing words?
I want to express my gratitude to Hackernoon for aiding me in realizing my aspiration of becoming a full-time writer and assisting others. Given my background from the pre-internet era, I'm determined to spare people the coding struggles I encountered along my journey.
