PROGRAMMING
From Ada Lovelace's first algorithm in 1883 to sophisticated languages powering complex hardware and software systems, programming is one of the purest indicators of human creativity and an extension of our age-old practice of ingenious problem solving.
While innovation is a beautiful thing in itself, it’s incomplete unless that newfound knowledge is shared, thereby catalyzing further transformation. History teaches us the harm of keeping our discoveries in silos. This is why, at HackerNoon, we've published over 7,000 programming stories to date, documenting the work of thought leaders and newbies alike.
Every perspective is important. Every story counts.

What our leaders say
DAVID SMOOKE

Please treat your internet friends with respect. There are many places on the internet where you can be mean. This is not one of them. You are welcome to be anonymous. You are welcome to speak your truth. Within reason. When agreeing or disagreeing, please be thoughtful, respectful and kind.

Appreciation post for HackerNoon and especially for the CEO David Smooke!
I really wish to emphasise this, even outside of the post talking about my journey, @hackernoon has been central to my blog work. @DavidSmooke has been very kind to me throughout this and I’m really lucky to continue contributing to them.
I'm ecstatic. Completely out of breath.
I got featured on the homepage of HackerNoon, one of the top publishing sites for tech enthusiasts. It's really hard getting published on HackerNoon. 55% of the articles get rejected. Not only did I get published, I got featured on the homepage! This means potentially millions of people will read this article. Ah, what a day. Alhamdullilah.
I'm Well, today is full of fantastic surprises!
An article I helped write with the amazing Green Software Foundation team just got published by HackerNoon! It was probably the most collaborative writing effort I've been part of, and I love the end result, capturing the best of all our voices. An interesting and rich experience as a writer, and a wonderful introduction to how software can (and should) intelligently adapt to how clean or dirty the electricity grid is. A complementary and essential way to reduce digital emissions.

Just discovered @hackernoon...
and I'm loving their articles on software development. Their piece on data structures and algorithms has completely changed my coding journey as a beginner in the field.

It's terrifying considering...
... @hackernoon is one of the greatest free resources for programmers. This is akin to putting soldiers outside a public library
