Too Long; Didn't Read

TheCryptoCactus is a partner and co-founder of White Palm Capital, a private investment fund that is investing in Web 3.0. He is a technical analysis at heart and spends his days thinking about the current trends in the crypto markets. His biggest challenge with writing is definitely the grammar, punctuation, and everything in between. What is your guilty pleasure of choice of choice? Probably just being lazy and not going to the gym. I now try to go at least 5 times a week to boost creativity.

This story is a part of Hacker Noon's Meet the Writer series of interviews. The series is intended for tech professionals contributing the most insightful Hacker Noon stories to share more about their writing habits, ideas, and professional background (and maybe a hobby or two). If you too would like to start contributing to Hacker Noon, you can do so here.

So let’s start! Tell us a bit about yourself. For example, name, profession, and personal interests.

My name is ‘TheCryptoCactus’ a pseudo name that I have used over the last few years in the cryptocurrency space for not wanting to dox myself. I am a technical analyst at heart. I spend my days thinking about the current trends in the crypto markets, writing free newsletters, and sharing my current thoughts and opinions with my Twitter audience. I am also a partner and co-founder of White Palm Capital, a private investment fund that is investing in Web 3.0.

When I get a chance to myself, I usually spend my time watching movies or tv shows with my fiance or going out for food, I also used to be a game developer in another life, so I also enjoyed playing the odd video game.

Interesting! What was your latest Hackernoon Top story about?

I wrote "Turning 2k to 2M in 16 Months: My Story on Branding, Opportunities, and Technical Analyses" and while the headline is catchy and exciting for readers to click, the main reason I wanted to write the article was to share my personal crazy investing experience and try to offer some kind of value that will either, get someone on the right track OR make sure someone stays on the right track. It’s a crazy space, and crazy things can happen.

Do you usually write on similar topics? If not, what do you usually write about?

I have a substack newsletter (TheMacroMarket), where I usually discuss the cryptocurrency market from a technical analysis standpoint once a week. I usually focus on the macro outlook of the market, giving my thoughts and opinions on price action and market sentiment. Otherwise, I am always sharing my opinions daily on Twitter @TheCryptoCactus.

Great! What is your usual writing routine like (if you have one?)

I have recently started writing an article to be sent out everyday Monday morning.

Being a writer in tech can be a challenge. It’s not often our main role, but an addition to another one. What is the biggest challenge you have when it comes to writing?

My biggest challenge with writing is definitely the grammar, punctuation, and everything in between. I am someone who enjoys maths, charts, and technical analysis, writing has never been my strong point but I am practicing.

What is the next thing you hope to achieve in your career?

Career-wise, I just want to really start supporting solid long-term projects that deserve and need capital, supporting founders, and growing the crypto space as much as possible. I am a small fish in this world so anything I can do to support that is my goal.

Wow, that’s admirable. Now, something more casual: What is your guilty pleasure of choice?

Hahaha, that is a tough question, probably just being lazy and not going to the gym. I now try to go at least 5 times a week to boost creativity and workflow. As I said earlier, probably gaming or watching movies with my fiance.

What can the Hacker Noon community expect to read from you next?

After the strong support and love for my first article published here, I might write a few more things in the future to update the community on investment progress or some other interesting and crazy stories that I have.

I appreciate being featured on such a great site. I have been a reader of HackerNoon stories for a few years now.

Thanks for taking time to join our “Meet the writer” series. It was a pleasure. Do you have any closing words?

Just, stay focused, stick to your goals, and everything is possible. Peace.
